Natural ingredients for active lifestyles

Barcelona-based HTBA is set to exhibit its nature-derived innovations at SupplySide West on 30-31 October in Las Vegas. The company, known for its expertise in citrus flavonoids and active vitamin B12 forms, will showcase ingredients designed to meet the growing demand for natural, clean-label supplements and functional foods.

At booth #4087, HTBA will highlight two of its flagship products:

  1. Cardiose®: A 100% natural sweet orange polyphenol extract obtained through a proprietary process. Research suggests it may support cardiovascular health and active performance.
  2. MecobalActive®: An active form of vitamin B12 that reportedly enhances cognitive function and supports energy metabolism and sleep.

Gummy prototypes for cardiovascular support

To demonstrate potential applications, HTBA has developed strawberry dragon fruit-flavoured gummy prototypes containing 500 mg of Cardiose. These will be available for sampling at the company’s booth and the expo’s Tasting Bar.

Dr Juan I Cacho, Scientific and Regulatory Affairs Specialist at HTBA, will present “Boost physical performance with citrus flavonoids” in the supplier presentation theatre (booth #3683) at 12:00 on 30 October. This talk will explore recent scientific findings on Cardiose’s potential role in active performance.

Taste modulation capabilities

HTBA will also exhibit its taste modulation solutions, including:

  1. Dark chocolate with reduced bitterness
  2. Functional mocha cold brew coffee featuring HTBA’s taste modulation technology and Olews olive leaf extract

These demonstrations aim to show how HTBA’s naturally-derived ingredients can improve the sensory properties of functional foods and beverages without adding sugar.

Sustainable production methods

Tom D’hoore, HTBA’s Chief Commercial Officer, emphasised the company’s alignment with current market trends: “Our understanding of the industry, combined with our pharmaceutical heritage and green manufacturing processes make us as unique – and trusted – as the health and nutrition products we co-create with our customers.”

HTBA’s ingredients are produced at its manufacturing facility in Murcia, Spain, using processes designed to support environmental sustainability.
