Crespel & Deiters Group appoints Frank Kreß as chief financial officer
Crespel & Deiters Group has appointed Frank Kreß as its new chief financial officer, effective 15 October 2025. He succeeds Dr Inge Hohrath, who is leaving the company after three years at her own request.
Extensive industry experience
Kreß brings substantial experience as a trained banker and business economist, with many years of CFO and management roles in family businesses and corporations, including the automotive supply and air filtration sectors. He has also provided consultancy services to various small and medium-sized enterprises.
In his new role, Kreß will oversee financial planning, investment and cost control, accounting and corporate finance, procurement, legal and compliance, information technology and IT business processes. The company maintains its strategy of appointing an external candidate to the group-wide CFO position to integrate broader perspectives into
the management of the family-owned business.
Continuation of strategic development
Since joining in August 2022, Dr Hohrath has strategically and operationally developed the company’s finance, HR and IT functions. Kreß will continue the established course with ongoing projects and initiatives in finance whilst steering the group forward and supporting key investment projects.
“In Frank Kreß, we are gaining a CFO who combines broad industry experience with a hands-on mentality. Together we will consistently drive forward the next steps in our transformation in finance, IT and compliance. At the same time, we would like to thank Dr Inge Hohrath for her outstanding contribution to the modernisation and professionalisation
of our finance department,” said Gustav Deiters, CEO of Crespel & Deiters Group.
Generational transition
The appointment forms part of planned generational changes in management. With Gustav Deiters’ departure at the end of 2025, leadership will transfer to a sixth-generation management team comprising Philipp Deiters, Frederick Deiters, Steffen von Glahn and Frank Kreß.
Kreß commented: “I am very much looking forward to my new role at the Crespel & Deiters Group. Together with the teams, I want to further enhance transparency, controllability and efficiency, thereby supporting the group’s growth and innovation agenda.”
The Crespel & Deiters Group is a leading European producer of wheat starches and wheat proteins, operating from its headquarters in Ibbenbüren, Germany, where it has manufactured products for over 160 years.
