Food Ingredients Europe 2025: Glatt Ingenieurtechnik presents particle engineering technologies
Glatt Ingenieurtechnik will demonstrate particle design technologies at stand 40C150, targeting manufacturers of food, feed, dietary supplements, and nutraceuticals seeking to modify ingredient functionality.
The company’s processes include spray drying, spray granulation, microencapsulation, particle coating, and agglomeration. These techniques modify solubility, flowability, stability, and controlled release properties of proteins, flavours, vitamins, fatty acids, and micronutrients.
Combined spray granulation and agglomeration transforms poorly soluble collagen and proteins into porous structures with improved dissolution characteristics. The process converts spray-dried products or liquids into dust-free, free-flowing granules that disperse without clumping. Coating or microencapsulation protects sensitive ingredients whilst enabling controlled release.
For premixes and compound feeds, fluid bed and spouted bed conditioning adjusts bulk density, flowability, and particle stability to improve handling in plant-based products and meat alternatives.
Glatt Ingenieurtechnik has operated for over 30 years, providing plant engineering services from concept to industrial-scale production. The company maintains headquarters in Weimar, Germany, with affiliates across Germany, Europe, India, and the United States. As part of the Glatt Group, the company accesses a network of approximately 3,000 employees globally.
