Lantech showcases automated case packing technology at iba 2025
Packaging machinery manufacturer demonstrated its C1000 case erector designed specifically for bakery and confectionery products, with capabilities of producing up to 30 precisely formed cases per minute regardless of environmental variables.
Lantech, a global manufacturer of end-of-line packaging machines, exhibited its automated case packing solutions at the recent iba trade fair in Düsseldorf, Germany. The company presented technology aimed at helping bakery and confectionery manufacturers increase output efficiency while reducing labour costs through automation.
Technical specifications and performance metrics
The C1000 case erector can produce up to 30 cases per minute with dimensional flexibility from 200 mm x 150 mm x 150 mm to 500 mm x 325 mm x 520 mm. This range accommodates various product sizes common in bakery and confectionery applications. “Users reliably receive right-angled shipping cartons that provide maximum stability and are ideal for transportation,” according to Lantech’s technical documentation. This precision is maintained despite variables that typically affect packaging consistency.
Environmental adaptation capabilities
A key technical attribute of the C1000 is its ability to maintain precise 90-degree angles regardless of material and environmental variables. The system compensates for:
• Variations in corrugated board quality
• Fluctuating temperatures
• Changing humidity levels
• Inconsistencies in blank dimensions
Process control methodology
The technical approach involves continuous control of the carton blank from its entry into the magazine through to completion as a finished case. This methodology ensures consistent quality throughout the manufacturing process.
“The blank is controlled from the moment it enters the magazine until it is discharged as a finished case with a closed bottom,” says the company. This comprehensive control contributes to the system’s ability to maintain precise specifications.
Customisable sealing options
The C1000 offers technical flexibility in closure methods, with options for either hot melt adhesive or tape sealing of case bottoms. This adaptability allows manufacturers to select the most appropriate sealing technology for their specific product requirements and downstream logistics considerations.
Industrial application context
Lantech’s automated packaging systems target manufacturers seeking to optimise production parameters through reduced downtime and decreased labour require-ments. The technology is particularly applicable in high-volume bakery and confectionery operations where consistent packaging quality affects both product protection and logistics efficiency.
As part of the company’s global manufacturing portfolio, which includes stretch wrapping machines alongside carton and tray handling systems, the technology was exhibited from the company’s European subsidiary based in Malden, Netherlands.
