NHNE 2025 draws record participation with 200,000 food industry attendees
Asia’s premier health and nutrition exhibition concluded its 10th anniversary edition with unprecedented industry participation. The three-day event showcased advances in precision nutrition, synthetic biology, and AI-driven product development across multiple sectors.
The China International Health & Nutrition Expo (NHNE) 2025 spring edition established new participation records, welcoming 200,000 attendees and nearly 4,000 exhibitors to Guangzhou’s China Import and Export Fair Complex from 21-23 May. The milestone 10th anniversary event reinforced the expo’s position as Asia’s leading platform for health and nutrition innovation.
Joint exhibition drives industrial growth
Co-located with PHARMCHINA’s 90th edition and API China’s 92nd edition, the combined exhibitions occupied 170,000 square metres across 19 halls. The joint format presented a comprehensive industrial chain spanning active pharmaceutical ingredients, pharmaceutical machinery, nutrition supplements, and functional health foods.
Over 550 industry experts and scholars participated in the event’s expanded conference programme, which addressed eight core themes: scientific research, technological innovation, policy and regulation, brand strategy, marketing, market insights, global trends, and distribution strategy.
International exhibitors highlight quality standards
First-time international participant FI Corporation brought Japanese health and wellness products to the exhibition floor. “As a debut participant at NHNE, we were truly impressed by the scale and professionalism of the event,” said Mr Tomoaki Shioya, President of FI Corporation. “There is clearly strong interest in ‘Made in Japan’ products, particularly those that reflect Japan’s trusted standards of safety and assurance.”
The Canada Pavilion expanded its presence for the third consecutive year, featuring 28 brands covering functional foods, vitamins, and health supplements. “The footfall has been especially strong this year, and our participating companies are very pleased—not only with the volume of attendees, but with the quality of industry professionals engaging at the booths,” said Jonathan Brasnett, Trade Commissioner at the Embassy of Canada in China.
Technology showcases feature precision nutrition advances
Exhibition highlights included next-generation probiotics, functional food innovations, and advanced supplement formulations. Conference sessions explored ingredient innovation, AI-driven product development, updated regulatory frameworks, and international market access strategies.
Shanghai Richen Nutritional Technology Co., Ltd. returned to NHNE after previous participation. “It’s remarkable to see how much NHNE and its co-located shows have grown since we were last here,” said Ms Wang Ye Mei, Technical Director of Richen. “The turnout has been exceptional, and we’re excited to continue engaging with industry professionals at our booth throughout the show.”
Nutrition Look Awards recognise industry excellence
The Nutrition Look Awards, described as the “Oscars of the Nutraceutical Industry,” recognised outstanding innovations, influential brands, and distribution channels. Awards celebrated breakthroughs in product development, sustainability initiatives, and market leadership.
“NHNE has always been a platform for driving industry transformation, and this year’s event proved that the future of the health and nutrition industry is more dynamic than ever,” said a Reed Sinopharm Exhibitions spokesperson.
Autumn edition planned for Nanjing
NHNE’s autumn edition will take place in Nanjing from 19-21 November, with organisers planning expanded programming for the global nutraceutical community. The biannual exhibition format spans over 40,000 square metres, typically attracting 120,000 omnichannel buyers and 1,200 suppliers from more than 30 countries and regions.
The exhibition encompasses 10 specialised sectors including dietary supplements, health foods, functional foods and energy drinks, nutritional supplements, raw materials for functional foods, new resource foods, foods for special dietary uses, foods for special medical purposes, probiotics, healthcare products, OEM manufacturing, and business services.
