Algalíf launches world’s first 15% natural astaxanthin oleoresin
Icelandic microalgae specialist Algalíf has achieved a significant breakthrough in natural astaxanthin concentration, launching Astalíf™ 15 – the industry’s first 15% natural astaxanthin oleoresin. The development marks a substantial development beyond current industry standard concentrations, enabling more efficient product formulations.
Sustainable cultivation drives innovation
The high-concentration oleoresin stems from Algalíf’s proprietary cultivation and extraction methods, enhanced by Iceland’s unique geographical advantages. The company utilises abundant clean natural water and operates exclusively on renewable geothermal energy, resulting in what it claims is the market’s lowest environmental footprint for
astaxanthin production.
Enhanced formulation capabilities
The concentrated oleoresin allows manu-facturers to develop smaller, more efficient capsules and create advanced formulations previously constrained by lower astaxanthin con-
centrations. This follows Algalíf’s earlier launch of Astabead™ 5 beadlets, the first 5% natural astaxanthin beadlets available commercially.
