GNT opens dedicated Shanghai office to support EXBERRY colours in China
GNT has established its first dedicated sales and application office in China, located in Shanghai, as the Dutch colour specialist moves to meet growing demand for plant-based food and beverage colours in the market.
The facility combines a commercial operation with an on-site application laboratory, giving Chinese food and beverage manufacturers direct access to formulation expertise and technical support.
Plant-based colours under China’s new classification
GNT’s EXBERRY® colour concentrates are produced from non-GMO fruits, vegetables, and plants using physical processing methods and water. Under China’s recently introduced official industry standard, these concentrates are classified as Coloring Foods, enabling clean label declarations such as “carrot colouring ingredient” on finished products.
Application support and customer collaboration
The Shanghai application laboratory is designed to accelerate product development for local customers. Services offered include concept innovation, formulation support, and stability testing, alongside customer training sessions and workshops. GNT says the facility will allow it to respond more quickly to the demands of a fast-moving market.
