TEEMYEAH launches water-derived ozone system for fresh produce washing lines

Guangdong TEEMYEAH Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. has introduced a water-derived indirect electrolytic ozone system for fresh produce washing, fresh-cut processing and ready-to-eat salad operations. Announced on 12 August 2026, the system generates an ozone-containing oxygen stream from conditioned water and dissolves it into process water for on-demand use within an industrial washing line.

TEEMYEAH's water-derived ozone technology generates antimicrobial process water from tap water for vegetable washing and fresh-cut processing lines.

TEEMYEAH’s EOS8132 water-derived ozone technology

Moving away from air-fed ozone generation

Conventional corona-discharge ozone generators pass dried ambient air through a high-voltage discharge unit before injecting the resulting gas into water. Depending on configuration, these systems can also require air drying, filtration, compressed oxygen or an external oxygen concentrator, meaning feed-gas quality is influenced by the humidity, dust and air conditions around the installation.

TEEMYEAH’s architecture instead uses conditioned water as the generation source. Electrolysis and selective proton-exchange technology produce the ozone-containing oxygen stream, which is then transferred into the process water. Because untreated factory air is not drawn into the ozone cell, ambient humidity, dust and surrounding air quality have less direct influence on the source, and the system avoids a bottled-oxygen supply or a separate oxygen concentrator.

The module also includes gas-liquid separation for ozone that does not dissolve into the process water, with an internal catalytic stage converting the remaining undissolved ozone before discharge. The compact configuration is intended to connect directly with washing equipment rather than operate as a standalone gas-handling installation.

Product range and specifications

The range comprises two models: the EOS8131-CD (medium capacity) and EOS8132-SD (large capacity), covering process-water flow rates of 200 to 6,000 litres per hour across both units. The EOS8131-CD measures 550 x 310 x 650 mm, weighs 60 kg, runs on 220V at 950W and can be placed flat or wall-mounted, producing ozonated water at 4.0–0.2 ppm. The EOS8132-SD is a floor-standing unit measuring 1000 x 350 x 760 mm, weighs 85 kg, runs on 220V at 1150W and produces ozonated water at 10.0–0.4 ppm.

Ozone is generated on demand and decomposes after use rather than leaving a persistent residual, and the systems can supply antimicrobial process water without storing or manually diluting conventional sanitiser concentrates.

Regulatory position

In the United States, 21 CFR 173.368 permits ozone as an antimicrobial agent in food treatment, storage and processing, including direct food contact in gaseous or aqueous form under prescribed conditions and current good manufacturing practice. For the European market, Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2023/1078 approves ozone generated from oxygen for Product Type 4 applications in food and feed areas, effective from 1 July 2024, while direct treatment of fruit and vegetables remains regulated under food-processing-aid rules at Member State level.

TEEMYEAH - vegetable processing lines in operation

Integration with washing lines

The technology can be specified as an optional sanitation module within several TEEMYEAH washing machines and lines, including the TW-406 Continuous Vegetable Washing Machine, TW-606-3 Vegetable Washing Machine, TW-706L Vegetable Washing Line, TW-705 Vegetable Salad Production Line and TW-475 Four-Stage Vegetable Washing Line, as well as customised fresh-cut and RTE salad processing lines. It is not a standard component in every machine; configuration depends on produce type, processing capacity, hygiene objective and applicable local requirements.

“Our objective was to engineer ozone around the process water from the beginning,” the TEEMYEAH technical team said. “The result is a compact treatment module that can be integrated with the washing process while reducing the supporting gas-supply equipment normally associated with air-fed ozone generation.”

The patented technology is used exclusively within solutions designed and supplied by TEEMYEAH and is not sold separately to other washing-line manufacturers.
