Pall Corporation unveils ceramic membrane system with graduated permeability design

Pall Corporation has introduced its Membralox GP-IC ceramic membrane systems, featuring graduated permeability technology that increases processing efficiency whilst reducing capital and operating costs. The system can recover up to 95% of value-add products from production side streams.

Enhanced filtration capacity through multi-channel geometry

The Membralox GP-IC membranes utilise a high surface area and multi-channel geometry to deliver up to 45% more filtration capacity compared to conventional ceramic filters of similar dimensions. This design enables more compact filter modules and optimised system loop configurations.

The graduated permeability along the filter length represents a departure from conventional ceramic membrane design, addressing specific challenges faced by food processors in maximising yield whilst maintaining processing efficiency.

Market positioning and industry applications

“The unique design of Membralox GP-IC pushes the boundaries of what’s possible for ceramic membrane solutions in order to meet the demands of food processors globally,” said Ankush Soni, Vice President & General Manager of the Food and Beverage business unit of Pall Corporation. “We are excited to launch this breakthrough solution and support our customers with a smarter, more efficient and sustainable solution.”

The ceramic membrane market is projected to reach $21 billion by 2030, according to Grand View Research, positioning Pall’s latest innovation within a rapidly expanding sector.
