Euromed to showcase Mediterranean botanical extracts for healthy ageing at Nutraceuticals Europe
Euromed will present its portfolio of Mediterranean fruit and vegetable extracts at Nutraceuticals Europe Summit & Expo 2026 (4-5 February) in Madrid, with a particular focus on perFix®, a clinically studied persimmon extract for weight management and body composition.
The Spanish botanical extract manufacturer will showcase four flagship solutions for the healthy ageing market in the Premium Substances zone at booth C25, alongside a seminar theatre presentation on 4 February 2026 detailing the clinical evidence supporting perFix.

Persimmon fruit
Clinical evidence for persimmon extract
perFix, part of Euromed’s Mediterranean Extracts range, is a standardised persimmon fruit extract that has been evaluated in a 16-week randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial involving overweight adults. The study demonstrated that perFix supported reductions in body weight and fat mass, particularly in the abdominal area, whilst preserving muscle mass.
The ingredient represents Euromed’s approach to weight management solutions backed by human clinical data, addressing consumer demand for evidence-based functional ingredients.
Polyphenol-rich extracts for cardiovascular and metabolic health
Euromed will also highlight Pomanox®, its pomegranate extract supported by more than 19 published studies and ongoing clinical trials. Standardised to punicalagin, the extract is rich in polyphenols and aligns with formulations inspired by the Mediterranean diet for wellbeing and healthy ageing applications.
For metabolic wellness, the company will present Wellemon®, a lemon extract standardised to eriocitrin, a water-soluble lemon flavanone with clinical bioavailability data. Additional Mediterranean extracts on display include Mediteanox® olive fruit extract for cardiovascular health, ABAlife® fig extract for glucose management, and Cynamed® artichoke bud extract for digestive and microbiome health.

Pomegranates
Muscle performance and men’s health solutions
For mobility-focused active ageing formulations, Euromed offers Spisar®, derived from spinach, and CuberUp®, from cucumber. Both ingredients have published human studies supporting muscle and joint benefits, respectively.
The company will also feature milk thistle extracts Ethis-094™ and Silactive® for nutraceutical and pharmaceutical applications. Research suggests silibinin, the key active ingredient in milk thistle, may offer benefits beyond liver support, including weight management, cardiovascular and immune health applications.
Prosterol®, a saw palmetto-derived ingredient for men’s health, has been extensively studied for urinary problems associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia.
Portfolio of standardised botanical extracts
Andrea Zangara, Scientific Communication Advisor at Euromed, comments: “Healthy ageing is no longer a passive idea. Consumers want evidence-based products with benefits they can understand and integrate into daily routines. With a portfolio of more than 40 standardised botanical extracts, we can support innovation across nutraceuticals, functional foods and beauty-from-within applications.”
Founded in 1971, Euromed operates manufacturing facilities in Mollet del Vallès (Barcelona) and Molina de Segura (Murcia), Spain, processing more than 5,000 tonnes of biomass annually. The production plant in Murcia utilises the Pure-Hydro Process®, a water-based extraction method designed to support sustainable manufacturing practices.
All extracts comply with worldwide GMP norms, international pharmacopoeias and regulations, reflecting the company’s pharmaceutical heritage and commitment to quality standards in analytics, chemistry and evidence-based therapeutics.
