Euromed to highlight clinical data on Pomanox at Vitafoods Europe 2026
Euromed will present new clinical findings on its standardised pomegranate extract Pomanox at Vitafoods Europe 2026, with research pointing to benefits for skin health, IGF-1 levels, and markers of healthy ageing in older adults.
Spanish botanical extract manufacturer Euromed will exhibit at Vitafoods Europe 2026 (Booth 3A24, Geneva, 6-8 May), showcasing new human clinical data on Pomanox®, its patented, standardised pomegranate extract, alongside its persimmon-derived weight management ingredient perFix® and its established range of milk thistle extracts.
Pomanox: new clinical findings in adults aged 55-70
The centrepiece of Euromed’s presence will be results from a randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial conducted at Manchester Metropolitan University under the leadership of nutritionist Dr Grace Farhat. Described as the most comprehensive human study on Pomanox to date, the trial assessed 12 weeks of supplementation in adults aged 55-70.
Published across three peer-reviewed papers [1, 2, 3], the findings showed a statistically significant increase in insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) – a biomarker associated with cell growth and repair that typically declines with age – alongside reduced inflammatory markers, improved vascular function, and positive changes in cognitive performance.
Dr Farhat will present the full results on Tuesday, 5 May (12:00-12:25, New Ingredients Theatre).

perFix: persimmon extract targeting body composition
Euromed will also feature perFix, derived from Mediterranean persimmons (Diospyros kaki L.f.). A randomised, double-blind, controlled clinical trial published in Foods (2024) demonstrated that perFix supported fat loss while preserving lean mass and improving mood in overweight healthy adults. The ingredient is positioned for use in weight management formulations that address both body composition and consumer wellbeing.
Milk thistle: pharmaceutical-grade standardisation
Rounding out Euromed’s exhibit will be its milk thistle extract portfolio, comprising Ethis-094™ and Silactive®. Both are standardised for silibinin – the primary bioactive compound in milk thistle – and are produced to GMP standards for nutraceutical and pharmaceutical applications. Research suggests silibinin may support liver, cardiovascular, and immune health, as well as weight management.
