Euromed showcases extended range of Mediterranean fruit and vegetable extracts for muscle and joint support

Euromed presented its newly launched products made from functional Mediterranean fruit and vegetable extracts at this year’s Vitafoods Europe event. The range now also includes lemon extracts, all of which are sustainably sourced and gently processed with Pure-Hydro Process™ water-only extraction technology.

This preserves natural ingredients while avoiding undesirable residues of organic solvents. The company’s botanical compounds are suitable for use in dietary supplements, functional foods, beverages, pharmaceuticals and cosmetic applications.

Now more than ever, health is on everybody’s radar. This means not only strengthening the immune system, but also keeping fit, well and mobile for as long as possible. With polyphenols, antioxidants and other valuable nutrients, the Mediterranean diet offers many fruits and vegetables that support these aims. That’s why Euromed has added lemon to its existing range of olive, pomegranate, fig and artichoke extracts. Euromed highlighted Wellemon™ — an extract from Spanish lemon fruit with a standardised content of the natural flavonoid eriocitrin. Among citrus species, lemons have the highest content of eriocitrin, which is known for its potential to support cardiovascular health, the venous system and healthy ageing.

Furthermore, a clinical study has demonstrated that eriocitrin has a higher bioavailability compared to analogues such as hesperidin from oranges, thanks to its superior water-solubility.
