Graphic Packaging expands central Europe footprint through strategic partnership with Fort

Fibre-based consumer packaging leader Graphic Packaging International has continued to expand its presence in central Europe after agreeing to a strategic commercial partnership with Fort Print Packaging, one of the largest companies in Bulgaria.

Fort specializes in the production of cartonboard and corrugated packaging and has the region’s largest market share in laminated packaging. Its unique technical capabilities will enable Graphic Packaging to further develop packaging solutions for the food and consumer goods industry.

Joe Yost, EVP and President EMEA at Graphic Packaging commented, “We’re immensely proud to collaborate with Fort, a true innovator and leader in its field. Fort is known for its state-of-the-art production facilities and enviable range of machines for printing, varnishing and lamination, but more than that, it’s known for its passion for innovation and dedication to sustainable packaging. This relationship is an ideal fit for our business.

“We’re looking forward to being able to deliver an even higher level of customer service to our European customers primarily located in the southeastern and adjacent regions.”

Graphic Packaging has a strong presence throughout Europe, and the partnership with Plovdiv-based Fort will give the sustainable packaging leader a foothold in Bulgaria.

Todor Charkov, CEO of Fort, welcomed the partnership, saying, “We are delighted to work with the leading global name in sustainable, innovative fibre-based packaging. It is the perfect fit for us and we are sure it will blossom into a fruitful relationship for both parties.”
