Griffith Foods buys Plant-Tec plant in Poland to grow seasonings output
Griffith Foods has reached an agreement with LipCo Foods Group to acquire the Plant-Tec factory in Zgierz-Lodz, Poland, a move the global product development partner says will strengthen its manufacturing footprint in Eastern Europe and support growth in dry seasonings and coatings.

The transaction integrates Plant-Tec into Griffith Foods’ existing European manufacturing network. The company, which develops culinary-driven, customised food ingredients for food manufacturers, protein processors, retailers and food service operators, said the acquisition adds capacity and flexibility to serve customers across the region while reinforcing continuity of supply.
A strategic entry point into a growing regional market
Eastern Europe’s sauces, seasonings and spices market reached total demand of US$10.49bn in 2025, with annual growth of 6.83 percent forecast through to 2030, according to Statista Market Insights figures cited in the announcement. Poland’s broader economy is expected to expand by 3.5 percent in 2026, one of the fastest rates among the European Union’s largest economies, per European Commission forecasts referenced by Griffith Foods.
Filip De Reymaeker, President of Europe at Griffith Foods, described the facility as “a key manufacturing asset that strengthens our footprint in Poland and Eastern Europe and supports our ability to serve customers in the region with greater capacity, flexibility and continuity of supply.” He added that the deal “also reinforces our position in important product categories, including dry seasonings and coatings, where we see strong potential for growth.”
De Reymaeker said the investment “strengthens our footprint in one of Europe’s most dynamic growth regions and expands our ability to serve customers with greater speed, flexibility and continuity of supply,” and that it “also supports our ambition to grow by connecting Griffith Foods’ global product leadership with strong local partnerships and market knowledge.”
LipCo Foods Group to redirect capital towards core operations
For LipCo Foods Group, the sale forms part of a broader repositioning of its business. César Lipka, CEO of LipCo Foods Group, said the integration “marks the starting point of a new phase of growth ambitions for both companies,” noting that the group “continues to focus on its business, which is the development of the multifood segments and innovations.” Lipka added that the group welcomes “Griffith Foods’ new production capabilities in Poland, which will help both companies grow the business together and continue delivering differentiated value in dry products innovation.”
Robert Bogusz, CEO of the Foods Solution Business Line at LipCo Foods Group, who was responsible for Plant-Tec’s development, said the transaction “confirms that we can create new ventures and bring them to maturity.” He said the company would “redirect the released capital to the development of our core business areas and innovative projects.”
Supporting supply chain resilience across Europe
TC Chatterjee, CEO of Griffith Foods, framed the acquisition within the company’s wider Purpose. “At Griffith Foods, we believe our greatest opportunities come from ‘creating better together’ with our customers and partners,” he said, adding that the investment reflects the company’s Purpose “while strengthening our ability to innovate, strengthen food systems, and deliver sustainable growth across Eastern Europe.”
Brian Griffith, Executive Chairman of Griffith Foods, said the new facility “gives Griffith Foods added capability to support our Purpose and growth strategy by responding more quickly to customer demand and helps us protect continuity of supply across Europe.” He called the deal “another important step in Griffith Foods’ growth journey, expanding our capabilities and strengthening our ability to support customers.”
